South Africa is a semi-arid to arid country by world standards and adequate access to potable water sources is critical to the health of communities and rural development. Furthermore, these water sources need to be sustainable to meet the demand of future generations. The CGS is in a unique position through its huge geological knowledge base and expertise to address this problem and the established branch offices of the organization is strategically positioned to deal with the 19 decentralised Water Management Agencies.
