The Laboratory of the Council for Geoscience offers analytical and research services to meet the requirements of the geological community and industry.

Rock, soil, mineral, water and industrial waste samples can be studied. These materials can be investigated by analysts using the polarizing microscope, the scanning-electron microscope (SEM), electron microprobe (EM), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF), mass spectrometer (MS) and inductively coupled plasma spectrometer (ICP) and ICP MS.

Analyses carried out give good insight into the qualitative and quantitative mineralogical, petrological, chemical and isotopic composition of samples.
